Leaders Advance 2017

Our next National SCAC Leaders Advance will be on 4 and 5 March 2017, at the Country Club in Launceston, Tasmania. We encourage you to come over the whole weekend from Friday 3 March to Monday 6 March as we normally do.

This year we are separating the Advance registration fee from the accommodation costs.

Advance Registration Fee

The Cost of the Advance registration will be $200 per person (includes morning tea and lunch over the two days) and is payable by Wednesday 1 February 2017. We also have a Wine & Cheese social evening planned on the Saturday evening at Noel Eagling’s home that will cost an additional $20 per person should you wish to attend. You will need to book and pay for your own accommodation this Advance. We have reserved 20 one-bedroom self-contained villas at $135 per night under The Southern Cross Association of Churches. Each room has a queen size bed and a fully equipped kitchenette. You can prepare your own meals (breakfasts and dinners) or eat at any of the onsite restaurants, pizzeria or grill. A lounge room area is also included, with a pull down double bed in the lounge, which makes the villa suitable for up to four people (or two couples) sharing. Additional adults (two included in room rate quoted) are $40 per person per night. Children are $20 per child per night. Porta cots are also available to be added for younger infants for the cost of $10 per stay.

Transport

You will need to book your own flight into Launceston airport. It is about a 15km drive from Launceston Airport to the Country Club Villas so you may wish to look at car hire. You can hire a car from the airport from around $43+ per day. You will also need transport to get to the Eagling’s home on the Saturday for the Wine & Cheese social evening (about 20km away). Alternatively, taxi fares will cost you $40-50 dollars up to 20km one way. Please look at carpooling with others you know to help reduce your costs.

ken-fishKen Fish will be our speaker at the Advance. Ken is an honours graduate of Princeton University and of both Fuller Theological Seminary and UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management. He has developed a unique set of skills that have allowed him to serve in both the church world and the business world. He formerly worked with John Wimber, the late leader of the Vineyard movement, and he has worked at senior management levels in Fortune 500 companies in telecommunications, high technology, energy and pharmaceuticals.
