Through our network of ministries, we can arrange consultations with experienced leaders in various aspects of apostolic ministry. This enables our members to receive apostolic and prophetic input, to strengthen ministries and leadership teams.
The Australian Federal Government has granted Southern Cross recognition as an official religious organisation. This enables the Association to nominate qualified persons for marriage celebrant status. We recognise God’s call to ministry through conducting ordination services for our members.
Throughout Australia, and in the nations of South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius, we have established support groups where members meet regularly and minister to each other. We conduct regular mission trips to visit and encourage these support groups around the world.
Southern Cross hosts international conferences featuring cutting-edge speakers who equip the saints through revelatory teaching and spiritual impartation. We host Leadership Advance events in various cities that bring together members in a retreat-type setting..
Our focus at Southern Cross is to build healthy biblical communities as found in the early book of Acts church (Acts 2:42-47). A biblical community is a relational community or a family of believers who come together with a singleness of mind and heart to fulfil the purposes of Jesus Christ.
Therefore the first step for each prospective relational affiliate is a wilful submission to a season of discernment and fellowship. This first step will help the prospective affiliate and our council of elders discern the potential offer of membership.
There is no set timeline for this season as it is an organic one and can go for periods of 6 -18 months. Our focus in this season is to grow and walk with each other in genuine fellowship. You will be exposed to state and national meetings giving you the greatest opportunity to connect with other affiliates.
You will receive an offer to join Southern Cross upon successful completion of the discernment period. New affiliates will receive a Minister of Religion Certificate and will enter into an ordination phase which will see them recognised and ordained as a 5 fold minister.
Upon completion of the ordination phase, ordained ministers who are pastoring churches will be able to apply to be recognised as a religious marriage celebrant. All itinerant ministers requesting a marriage celebrant licence will be considered on a case by case basis.
Southern Cross is officially recognised by the Australian Government as a Christian denomination. This enables us to license and ordain ministers who can then be recognised as marriage celebrants under the Marriage Act. We believe it is a privilege to be able to provide this service within the community of believers and therefore adhere to the strictest guidelines under the Marriage Act. All ordained ministers who breach the internal guidelines as set out by Southern Cross risk losing the privilage to hold the status of being a religous marriage celebrant.
Please note: Ordination takes place bi-annually held either in the local state and conducted by the state elder or annually at the Leaders Advance.
